Have been struggling for 3 days with 7 clues which I can't seem to get,namely
15 dn I have P?U?O.
67 ac i have GACESDI?E.
85 ac I have A?N?L?N?.
93 ac I have P?E?N?M I think this maybe PILGRIM but will put cross letters out.
157 ac I have ?A?T
185 dn I have TIRA?N?U.
193 dn I have P?T?O?N.
Please at this stage don't tell me the crossing words so I can have another go at them.
@philcottie,
15d = SABRES
67a = GABERDINE
85a = ARTISANS
93a = PILGRIM
157a = BATT
185d = TIRAMISU
193d = PATTERN
Philcottie in future put the full clues in so people who don't get Lovatts can have a go too.
@Dutchy,
Thanks dutchy and I stand reprimanded but I have to question your answer to 15dn which should be 18dn and the clue is piano duets upper part and I have P?U?O Im' afraid this 83 yr old is gradually losing it.philcottie.
@philcottie,
Hi philcottie
Nothing wrong with 15d, I gave you the answer, you've asked for!
18d = PRIMO.
Good luck old fellow
@Dutchy,
Hi dutchy thanks for your answers which were as usual spot on and i am left with one to go namely 18dn where I have P?U?O the clue being piano duets upper part.The only word I can come up with is PLUTO. I have googled this and used a lot of other websites but have to admit defeat so my dear friend HELP.philcottie
@Dutchy,
Thanks dutchy I wasnt questioning your ability but I have to question my ability to grasp the obvious.Anyway have now completed this stinker, what would we do without you I have to ask.philcottie
@philcottie,
Hello Philcottie. I am an avid fan of Lovatt's crosswords and when I finish them I like to just check Able to see that I havn't made a slip-up. I read your mail to Dutchy and he has put you right. The only place that I can see that you have made a mistake in trying to put PRIMO at 18d is that 27a is NOT the word biannual but BIENNIAL, therefore allowing primo to fit. Hope this makes sense.
