I rely on "them" all the time, especially when dealing with grandkids.
"They" know more than me and are always updated on the most recent findings. I tell my daughter to take away those twitter, FB, phone and other things at 10 p.m. because "they" say kids need 8 - 10 hours of sleep each night.

“They” can be a lot of things. A scapegoat to which we can pin our opinion to, a piece of the puzzle that we choose to listen most to in spite of being a small piece, or even truthful guidance composed by specialists. It’s kind of like statistics, 60% of statistics are “made up” on the spot, used when it suits the individual.
