Just diagnosed with H. pylori, gastritis, and Barret's esophagus. I have made a bunch of lifestyle and eating changes. Anybody have some first-hand experience with this stuff?
Are you on anti-biotics?
Been out of the country lately?
Did you pick up a "bug"?
@PUNKEY,
yes, antibiotics have been prescribed. Haven't been out of the country
@mags314772,

Out of curiosity, have you had chronic GERD (reflux)? I've had reflux for over 10 yrs, and have been Omeprazole (Nexium) for most of that time.
@Ragman,
yes. I have had reflux for years and have been on Protonix. The doctor changed it to Nexium today.
@mags314772,
Not meaning to be too personal, have you had a weight problem as well?
@Ragman,
yep, although I HAVE DROPPED 25 LBS. since this kicked up in late October
It sounds like you are under Dr's care and it's being treated.
Drink LOTS of liquids. That re-flux acid is really dangerous, as you know.
@PUNKEY,
Yes' reflux can generate barrett's esophagus as an adaptation to the acid in the food tube. I've got it and I'm told it can after some time lead to cancer. Lucky for me I'm old enough to die of something else.
@JLNobody,
I know it can lead to cancer. They will monitor the condition.
The h. pylori has returned with a vengeance. I understand that sometimes the antibiotic treatment doesn't work the first time, especially if you also have GERD. Going to the gastro guy this week This sucks
