hello needing help with the following please:
1d - lacking energy like an unprepared shopper? - 8 letters - I have s?s???s?
3d standards of perfection suffered a slide - 6 letters - possibly f?e???
4d fruitcake enthusiast - 3 letters - maybe r?t not sure
23d - dance academy is a little flat - ?t???? maybe studio?
27d - exhibit fragment of collector's most prized item - 9 letters
39a - a game of pool - 5 & 4 - ??t?? ????
48a - leniency needed to cycle in formation round guys - 8 letters ??e?????
37d - well respected leader issues warning sign to all adult females - 5 letters ??m??
any help much appreciated

many thanks for those PaddyH. I have decided on showpiece for 27d as that fits with water polo. Only have 1a left now - volume controllers - looks like
l?b???i?n? and the only word I can find is librarians????????

Agree with showpiece and librarians.
Always try to give as much information as you can regarding number of letters and those you already have (such as you did with l?b???i?n?).
That way those of us down under who are operating without a grid,might still be able to hazard a (hopefully helpful) guess.
