I recently came across some old Cypress Wood that has been rotting in the Florida swamps. How do I clean the wood of any sand or debri resulting from lying in the swamps and also preserve it from continuing to rot?

@David J,
Tough question because resawing or planing dirty, sandy wood is just murderous on the cutting blades.
Has it already been sawn into planks? Could be a real treasure trove, and I understand that the heartwood is not going to rot, anyway.
