What percentage of people know that 10/20/10 is World Statistics Day? Happy day, statisticians!

Add me to the statistical side who was ignorant of this fact.

Will you be partaking in the world wide celebration by calculating statistics in your daily life? Your work? For fun?

@tsarstepan,
Your emoticons look like the Rockettes chorus line. Did you plan them that way?

@tsarstepan,
I'm 99.9999999% sure I'm going to turn off this computer and watch Survivor within the next 5 minutes.

I'm 64.3% sure I spend too much time reading tweets lol. (But...it's fun)!

@dlowan,
Prior to 4:00 this morning, I was 100% unaware that today was World Statistics Day. After I woke up early at 4:30 AM and couldn't go back to sleep, I turned on my computer and forwhatever reason went to Twitter. One of the immediate Tweets in the immediate area of the screen was this particular bit of news from SciFri, a respected NPR science radio program.

From that moment on, I was 100% aware of this global situation and I felt compelled to let you guys know! Cool

@dlowan,
I suffered slings and arrows of my own misyoking, now I must earn my good karma with these a2k based threaded deeds!

@littlek,
I don't really know why. Woke up at 4:00 and tried to go back to sleep. Decided to officially wake up at 4:30 when I knew I couldn't fall back to sleep.

@tsarstepan,
Does that happen often?

@littlek,
Thankfully no.

Once in a while when I'm anticipating some event... most recently the day a2k meetup I couldn't sleep very well. Other times? First day on a job type of days or the day of a class finals ... big events such as that but today was a modest uneventful day so this morning was a fluke.

@tsarstepan,
Ah. So why aren't you asleep already tonight?

edit: I'll check back for the answer tomorrow. I, at least, am falling asleep at my desk....
