Twelve step programs

Has Professor Hawking ever expressed an opinion of twelve step recovery programs? I am a long time member of an international organization of recovering alcoholics and, over the years, have heard many statements and claims of statements by other members some of whom have become self appointed "experts" who are suggesting that Professor Hawking has expressed his admiration of such programs. I have been aware of Professor Hawking's extraordinary contributions to humanity but have not, so far, been aware of any opinions or statements of his relating top the subject of twelve step programs. So, back to my original question - has Professor Hawking expressed an opinion or made any statements regarding twelve step programs? PLEASE be aware that I am neither a defender NOR promoter of such programs but I most certainly would like to be able to sort out fact from fiction.
