RUGMAN! Good to read that you still pop in from time to time. I, too, have become only an occasional visitor to the forum, mostly due to having to work twice as hard for half the money. Are you on your way to running the company yet..? Any closer to the $50 million..?

God no... Due to a... how do we say Lack of oversees knowledge on Government ability to SHUT DOWN a company due to non payment of Taxes... and not just taxes... but EMPLOYEE taxes that WERE witheld... The US division was shut down.... and shortly there after Oil tanked in price... effectively clearing out most of my retirement, and a loss of 75% of my stock options not that that matters since the damn stock is a penny stock since the US division weent under... so I did what I wanted to do right out of High school... Joined the Navy LOL... Me RIght? who'd athunkit

Man...I am speechless. But, not entirely unexpected. With the price of gas at the pump ranging from $4.85 down to $1.70 here in SoCal it no wonder. If I hadn't sold off my unneeded real estate and business, I'd've hired you. As it is, I am off to the Bahamas to retire. I'll head down to find a beachfront home and settle in. I'll keep one home here for visits to my kids. Good luck, Ryan - you're a fine guy.

Oh socalguy! You're retiring in the Bahamas? Oh am I jealous! I'm about 1/3 through my second year in college and I'm starting to really feel grim about my future...

Dont feel grim sweetheart... You are young enough to wait out in recession the USA has... we will either get through it... or we will all be Cavemen again... no in between. its a Win Win Situation (brushes off his club and awaits the day he can proudly and legally... CLUB A BYTCH and say COME TO MY CAVE

MissDixy - glad to read that you are still checking in from time to time. Yep, I plan to take advantage and sell it all, save my one remaining SoCal house and move to the Bahamas. They all speak English and retain a certain dignity that seems to have been lost here. Once I am settled, I will let my pals on this site know where I am. Like someone said to me here, I will not let door hit me on the way out. I'll take my dough and relax. Might buy a small hotel.....

My only advice is to save your money - do not invest it, do not spend it. Save it. When the time is right, in a year or two, buy REOs, rent them and keep them. If you enjoy a modest return, so much the better. If you spend it before then and lose our job, you are screwed. None of the tax and spend liberals will give a flying fig about you then. You will be in a cave for sure.
