Hello everyone, Tulip recommended that I stop by and join this forum. I'll wonder around, most likely get lost as per norm, and get to know the posters.
I lean politically to the middle left and right, I loathe socialism thou. I don't need a Nanny Government to tell me how to lead my life, I'm quite capable of making my own decisions. I like Americans or Mericians which is how we in the Maritimes pronounce it.
I'm a DIY junky, I'm almost done renovating my 40 year old house. I love power tools (well until I set one on fire or shoot myself with it) and I restore antiques and old furniture. I hunt through trash for furniture, wood and other good stuff. Yes I'm a dumpster diver and proud of it.
I'm also a "Girl". :dunno:
Cheers.
@Red cv,
Glad to have you here. We need more input from the fairer sex. Thanks to Tulip for the promo. I'm Drnaline, kinda short for Adrenaline. You'll either love me or hate me. As so the standard seems around here. I'm conservative on most topics, NeoLibs prefer to call me a NeoCon. I usually vote repug. Maritimes, can i take a wild guess and say you live by water, LOL.
@Red cv,
Welcome , Red . Curmudgeon here - an old tool freak and middle-of-the-roader leaning conservative .
@Red cv,
Welcome, I hope you'll find some good debates here.
@Red cv,
Thankyou for the welcome, yep I live near the ocean. In Nova Scotia no matter where you live the Ocean is only an hour away. Lovely sandy beaches that are eroding daily. Coldddddddddd water thou.
I love old tools Curmudgeon, I married one.

I'm sure if we could see curmy's face he would be blushing, LOL.
@Red cv,
Nah the other half is use to my wicked ways. I'm sitting here patiently waiting for the furnace fella. I had my furnace serviced one week ago and boom the dam thing is now acting up. I can't get the hot water heat to shut off, the temp is hovering around 25. I can watch the furnace eat my oil by the minute. I thought it was the electric thermastat but the furnace guru assures me it's a zone valve. It better be, I can change a thermastat but I have no clue what a "Zone Valve" is. I've never had hot water baseboard heating before and it's a mystery to moi. I have one of those new age tankless furnace slash hot water heater. It's suppose to be energy efficient, it isn't.
@Red cv,
A zone valve is what controls the heat going in/out to a particular part of the house. The zone valve's should be in your boiler room, most houses have at least three or four zones.

@Red cv,
You are correct Drnaline, unusal name what is it's origin?
It was the motor in the zone value that opened and closed the zone. It was 28 years old, you would think the previous owner would of changed these little boxes when he put the "State of the art" furnace in. I haven't got the bill yet, fingers crossed.

Drnaline is short for Adrenaline. Comes from my past affliction with Hang Gliding. I fancy myself a junky for the drug. To this day it's the biggest high i have ever got. 13,500 AGL to be exact, LOL.

Those types of things don't get replace unless they are broken. In the states for such a job it would run between two and threefifty. Don't know how that converts to your rate?

I'm with ya.
@Red cv,
As you know, I'm a new member, too. I don't feel like I've been a member of this forum long enough to officially welcome anyone so I will just say I'm enjoying your posts and look forward to reading many more.
@Red cv,
