And what a battle that will be for her. Have you watched her performance? Has she got anything other than major contacts?

I think she's good on the show, but it's such an ensemble cast that I think it's hard for anyone to really stand out. I'd be interested to see her in something else.

i don't think anyone could reasonably make a case that "deserving" talent gets unfairly excluded

Setanta- I wasn't even thinking of that. Show business is a very volatile affair. often it is the luck of the draw. My only point is that some celebrities have a "leg up" because of their name value, and the fact that they have probably mingled with show business people because of their relative.

David Carradine is the older brother (actually half-brother) of Robert Carradine (Sam McGuire). He was the star of Kung Fu (1972-75). The Carradines are one of the best-known acting families in Hollywood history. Robert and David have another famous acting brother, Keith; and their father John had a motion picture career that lasted well over fifty years. Robert is the father of actress Ever Carradine, Keith is the father of actress Martha Plimpton, and David is the father of a son with actress Barbara Hershey.

Sorry, I never could stand Liza, I may be a minority but I think she's over done...

I think most of these people earned their stripes on their own.

Blythe Danner, Bruce Paltrow and Gwenyth

Jayne Mansfield's daughter is Mariska Hargitay from Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Jennifer Aniston's soap actor dad, John Aniston

The Torturo Familia - Nick, John and Aida

The Sutherlands - Keifer and Donald

Anjelina Jolie and father Jon Voight - his brother Chip Taylor wrote Wild Thing

The Redgraves, Hustons, Reiners and Clooneys are some other big name families.

I spent much of my life working in television as a film & video tape editor. I had no relations to call on and did it purely on my own skill and creative talent.
I worked on many progs from quiz shows, soaps, dramas & political shows. I spent 15 years running my own production company. I loved every minute of it. It paid well & was far better than doing a real job.
