Say I wanted to write a book. Be a children book or even the next new horrible Twilight series. How would I go about getting it published? Is there a something somewhere that tell me the world of reading and readers is looking for?

@Seed,
I can't tell you what to write. My best advice is to write what you personally would like to read yourself. A memoir or nonfiction expose? Or a work of fiction?

What I do suggest is once you start writing ... Do Not self publish. Look for a literary agent to help you get the work published.

@Seed,
A list of literary agents in case you need it.

@Seed,
A ghost writer is an imperative.

There are several literary magazines that have ads from magazines or other publications requesting submissions (no pay). That's a good place to start.

@sullyfish6,
Get an agent. A lot of houses will only look at manuscripts that have been submitted by an agent.

There's a book titled, Putting Your Passion into Print, by Arielie Eckstut and Henry Sterry. It contains all the information you would need to get you rolling, including getting an agent. It might go a bit over the top on self-promotion but it does lay out for you what you need to do.

Good luck.
