The Queen's official title is "Elizabeth Regina" which she uses to sign official documents, Acts of Parliament etc. It is often abbreviated to "ER".

The word "Regent" means "ruling"... it has a special meaning when used in connection with the British Constitution and Royalty. If the rightful king or queen is incapable of ruling, then a Regent is appointed, usually another member of the royal family. Examples of incapacity might include mental illness or being a child. From 1811 to his death in 1820 King George III was mentally ill and his son the Prince Of Wales was appointed Prince Regent. (Not King Regent) When the mad king died, his son, who was next in line for the throne, became King George IV.

Is that better?
