I notice that clipper fits the answer for merchantman in 109 down. However I cannot find a definition for clipper, from my limited resources, that says it is a merchantman. I know that there is a clipper sailing ship and presume therein lies the answer to the clue. Perhaps Contrex could enlighten me with a definition , as he has with questions from others.
