147a Sedative = S??o?i??c. Crossed with 129d = SOLSTICE, 130d = SINOLOGY, 132D = BLOCKADE
154a Eagle or owl. = ??P?OR

126d Charitable gifts = ELEEMOSYNARY.?????
22d Spirals = HEL?CES
139d Under-roof = ?LE??STO?Y

I can't reconcile HELIXES (22d) as the X crosses with 40a Strikebreaker = SCAB
Also 149d must be AXES as it crosses with 160a Seven-piece group = SEPTET
Still no clues on 164a Effigies = D?YS
