Is there any article or rule that would prevent a President from appointing (or Congress from approving) a PREVIOUS supreme court justice to a second term on the bench? Could Barack Obama re-appoint Sandra Day O'Connor to the bench now that her husband has passed (assuming a seat opened up and both parties were interested).
