I have tried twice to download this protection, and each time the message that the download is complete appears. I'm asked if I want to save the file, but I can't find it anywhere on my computer. Where would it usually be?

Be careful that you're actually downloading it from Microsoft. There's a warning in the computer security community that there are search engine optimization exploits that are actually redirecting people to malware sites.
