I too have been described as a free spirit many times in my life k, and sometimes it was a compliment, sometimes an insult, sometimes a lament on my behalf.

If you are content to let these people use that describer as they will and your self esteem is tied to neither the praise or the contempt.....then congratulations, you're in the free spirit club.

Free spirits wouldn't join a club, bear...! Laughing

The Free Spirit Club. What an oxymoron! Can you imagine such a thing? They would never have any rules, scheduled meetings or planned events.

You'd just sorta play it loose.......if you ran into another free spirit you'd call it a meeting......wide parameters in that club....and NO dress code Very Happy
I'm talking exclusivity here... Cool

I should have used a more realistically desciptive word like group or demographic...but hey!!!!! I'm a free spirit!!!!

BPB, you would enjoy this...

A good friend of mine, an accountant (definitely NOT a member of the FSC!), told me about a seminar on "Thinking Outside the Box" she had been to...said she thought I'd be interested in it.

"No...wait," she said on second thought. "You need a seminar on Thinking Inside the Box."

She was serious! HAHAHA! (Hugs backatcha!)

haha... you guys are funny. My self-esteem has nothing to do with it. I'm really just curious. And I think sometimes people say the words with a negative slant and others with a positive, like you said, BPB.

I think we'd find there are many more free spirits than we think there are in the world.

My self-esteem isn't that great. But, it has nothing to do with whether people think I'm a free spirit or not.

me neither, I have horribly low self esteem....my entire cheerful don't give a **** veneer is paper thin......I often lie in bed and cry myself to sleep.....squinney doesn't know because she snores so loudly.........everything I say and do is a pathetic cry for help....think I'll eat some worms
......

Just farting around...not serious....a little free association...quite appropo for this thread wouldn't you say :wink
