The pen/pencil holder that one's belt fits through is more classic nerd than pocket protectors, I believe. I do not know where they can be found.

But, a yo-yo in one's breast pocket, with a pencil behind one's ear could make a statement about one's nerdiness.

A small slide-rule in one's breast pocket adds a note of nostalgic nerdiness, I believe.

For nerdiness, nothing beats a flow chart template sticking out of the breast pocket.
