Elias "Redcap" Ball died September 1751 in Charleston, South Carolina and, according to oral history, is supposed to be buried in the western half of St. Philip's Churchyard. How can I find out where his body really is if there if no gravestone ? (NOTE: He is NOT buried at Strawberry Chapel in Monck's Corner - that is only a memorial stone.)

@SuzyQ,
All we can help (unless someone has detailed knowledge of this fellow) is what we can gather from the several web sources. Can you provide more background on the guy besides what youve given?.

There are forensic tools to locate buried folks , even in300 year old plots. However, your needs need some more detail.

I'd suggest writing Edward Ball (Slaves in the Family) and asking.
If anyone knows, he does.
