Hey O, I'm thinkin ebay would be a good place to get the material/rope cheap enough. You can pretty much get anything on there and that's where I get the best deals on stuff. That's ok if you can wait to get it, but not really if you need it right away.
Hardware stores are the only other places I can think of that would carry the stuff you need.
I'm also curious to know what people will suggest on the kind of material you could use, so I'll just pull up a chair.
