Most of us are several furlongs away from agricultural timekeeping. For the farmer, the busy season is ending. For the rest of us the end of summer means the beginning of school and the beginning of the social season and new television programs.
The older I get the more I feel the symbolism of the end of summer and the beginning of a time of hibernation.
Any thoughts?
Well, Noddy, The autumn of our lives isn't all that bad, but I do understand what you're saying. Damn, girl. I wish you'd change that avatar.
Letty--

I always welcome fall...the time of my birth....and the bittersweet time of remembrance as things pass on by. But I welcome the respite from summer heat and humidity, even as I do not look forward to the seasonal dpression attending reduced hours of light and holidays.
