Is That A Lobster In Your Pants?
SAN DIEGO -- A San Diego man who was allegedly poaching lobsters was caught with six of the creatures stuffed down his pants.
Binh Quang Chau, 33, who has been cited four times for poaching, allegedly took the lobsters from the La Jolla State Marine Conservation Area.
Department of Fish and Game warden Daryl Simmons said wardens arrested Chau when they noticed "odd bulges" in his pants.
All six of the newspaper-wrapped lobsters were still alive and were returned to the ocean.
Lobsters in the San Diego area do not have pincers.
@edgarblythe,
Six of 'em, eh? I guess they ain't the kind of lobsters found off the east coast of Canada and the US? Just how big are these babies?
@JTT,
I have no idea how big they are, jtt.
@edgarblythe,
But now he can sing like Beverly Sills.
Maine lobsters have big claws which are rubberbanded because their muscles are made for closing the claw and , like an alligators mouth, not that strong in opening. We eat the entire lobster in MAine.
A spiny lobster from the west coast ,of which only the tail is eaten, dont have claws. BUT they do have spiny tails that can whip around and cut you with a nasty swipe. They also have a mean crushing mouth . So, wrapping em in newspaper was the least he could do.
@farmerman,
It makes them more bulky, but it's the reasonable ting to do, in keeping with the circumstance.

Maybe the guy was stealing newspapers, and the crustaceans just jumped along for the ride.
