It's probably very simple and might sound quite stupid to some of you, but if you can, I'd want to see if my method is correct in this proportion problem. So, I have 5 quarts and 2 quarts. Then I c cups and 8 cups. If that was the case, should it be 5/c = 2/2 since I'd convert 8 cups to 2 quarts, or should it just be solved as 5/c = 2/8?

think of it as "5 is to 2 as c is to 8" or
5/2 = c/8, or
c = 8(5/2), or
c = 40/2, or
c = .....
