Stop thinking that much progress will be made in America no matter who is elected....bush and company have damaged us so badly that NO president will be able to make a dent in the problems over the first 4 years. Be satisfied with a dent.... if we get that.
That of course is strictly my in general opinion.
You're right; the mess Bush and Company created over the past eight years will not be short-term by any means! We're still in the middle of the subprime mortgage crisis, and that's expected to last for at least another two years. Both Bush and the Congress kept their eyes on the war and Iraq, and kept funding it even though the American People wanted out of this mess that Bush created in 2003. It's now lasted longer than WWII without any exit plan except "when we win" with no definition. Bush and Company also accomplished creating more enemies for our state by being engaged in the Middle East where increasing numbers of fundamental Muslims hate Americans. Not only for our occupation of Iraq, but because of our support of Israel.
Wonder of wonders, we still have about 30-percent of Americans who support this war in Iraq that's costing American lives and 2.7 billion every week while our own citizens go without the basic necessities of health care, food, and fuel. Jobs are being lost at frightening rates while the world economy collapses, and the US dollar losses value.
The national debt is already at the highest point in our countries history, and it continues to grow at over 150 billion/year. That's not sustainable for any country, let alone the US where taxable revenue continues to drop at all levels of government.
We have only ourselves to blame for allowing all this to happen - to us. There should have been a recall, because this Administration, Congress and Supreme Court failed our country, but we just sat back and let all this happen.
