A long questionaire about the people living in my home. On the envelope it read, "You are required by law to fill out this form." The same statement didn't mention putting it in the mail. Very Happy It is extremely detailed, about every aspect of being a person living here and the financial as well as physical desciption of the property. It will take me at least another hour to finish filling it out. Wull . . . I'm a true Amurcan. I shall complete the task, er kill a few ***********#!** in the event I fail. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of Amurca. One nation undivisable, with liberty and justice fer all. And Lone Star beer.

Someone I know called me and asked me to look at a form they received in the mail. The person hadn't even opened it even though the envelope said:
IMPORTANT OPEN IMMEDIATELY
MUST BE RETURNED WITHIN 14 DAYS

I opened the envelope and it was a 3rd and final notice to fill out the Census Bureau questionnaire subject to Title 13 of the United States Code....whatever. Fines are $5,000 & $10,000 for not filing it out.

It was dated Jan. 08 (couldn't believe it). It also said if not returned the person in question would be turned over to some other form of State or Federal govt. division. I didn't read the whole letter. I think it is a little late so they can wait to hear from the govt.

I think they should complete it, nonetheless, and send it, after making copies. Add a letter of regret.

I'm staying out of it. I told the person....it's not my problem.

I never heard anything about fines. However, I can tell you if you don't send it back you might have a census person on your doorstep offering to help you fill it out.

Well, this was a 3rd and final notice subject to the fines I posted. It wasn't what you might say....a friendly reminder either.

Just tell them you did fill it out and return it and that it must have gotten lost in the mail.
