Windows 2000 Professional not able to support Ipod Shuffle

We have an older operation system on our Dell and we need the XP or Vista in order to set up the I-Pod Shuffle. Can we put XP on this Dell and what should we look for in order to get it operating correctly with no problems? We do not want Vista.

What do we need to look for and is there a possibility of any problems if we change operating systems?

Thanks so much,
Mis

My sister was operating on windows 98. I needed something higher to support a tax program so, I loaded Windows 2000 on her PC. Then I loaded Windows XP. She didn't like XP so I uninstalled it.

AT/AT Compatible
523.248 KB Ram

Is that what you are asking JPB? I hope?

hey, mis --- here's a place where you can check all of the XP requirements vs your system. I'd strongly suggest not pushing the minimums. You'll lose performance overall if the OS is hogging all of the available resources.

Thanks JPB.....we bought Dad a shuffle. My brother and I are just thinking that we might download his music to our computers and get it set up there. He can just change it up when he comes to visit. I will check it out and see...but this computer is a dinosaur! They just need internet access to check e-mails and such.

Thanks again.
