...deserves to die a thousand deaths. I hate them. Hate them. Hate them. Any background noise and we're caught in an endless loop of "I'm sorry, I didn't understand"'s from the insipid human-sounding computer, and mounting frustration from the person who just, for god's sake, wants to push 1 for an operator or something. No, that won't do. Who decided that what people really want to do, people who avoid voicemail and personal conversations at all costs, really really want to speak to a computer and marvel that they can (or can't, as is the case unless you happen to have Maxwell Smart's bubble over you when you make the call) understand us?
Whoever you are, I hate you.
Thanks for listening.
Some of the busier companys may have no choice, given the volume of calls received. However, many people that don't really need to are doing it. I hate them too.
Well, I roil up with near homicidal rage when calling these places myself. (deep breath...)
Wow, Phoenix! I'm going to add this to my Favorites list!
THANK YOU!
(Insert clapping emoticon here)
Boy, am I glad to hear you say that, FreeDuck. I always thought
it was my accent "they" don't understand, but now, I don't feel so alone.
After a lot of trouble I got the right person and this message.
Sorry I cannot answer your call as I am NEITHER out of my office NOR am I away from my phone.......please leave a message after the bip
Got it??? I didn“t
Probably had sex at the desk counter, and naturally too busy to pick
up the phone.
I recently read that if you hit the prompt for Spanish instead of English that you will most likely get a bilingual operator right away.
I haven't had the oportunity to try it yet but I'd love to hear if anyone else had had success with it!
