When I said context, I meant I hadn't clicked on EBeth' link.
And I still think the comment was meant as "you should purge such language from your vocabulary", not "I will tell everyone what you said in private."
Much as I told my daughter when I heard her say the N word...
I didn't take the gentleman's remark that way, but you may be correct. I do think we live in an age of a new social "puritanism" which pries far too much into our private lives.
