I guess that depends on how you define phony. I know many men who fake their heights and many women who lie about their weight....

I think both genders are capable of phoniness. But I can figure out the women easier, so a man's phoniness is more likely to surprise me.

Equal opportunity phoney voter here, although as a woman I have more contact with women phonies than men.

Aus men get cut to ribbons if their peers detct even the faintest hint of phonieness. No bullshit.

I see more phony women here then men.
But, because I look at men differently , if he is a fake , I am likely to not pay attention to him.
Then again, men do not get fake tanning spray, or burn themselves ( too often) in a tanning bed.
They dont get fake nails with french manicures.
They dont wear a lot of gold and diamonds.
They dont drive hummers like soccer moms with little boob syndrome
They dont have fake tits
They dont buy things just because it is a brand name and not becuse they want it
They dont wear little white dresses on fake tanned bodies
They dont have super straight hair with fake color

but then again..

If they are gay..

Hah! My little tourist town here is known as "phony heaven" and it amuses
me to no end to watch them. Some of them come and go within a 2 year
time frame, and we used to take bets in guessing how long the new phonies
would last.

I see an equal distribution though of men and women being phony. Women
tend to display it differently than men, but the notion is the same.

Phonies are sure they are clever enough to fool other people.

Over the years I've noticed that most phoney men assume that I am naturally inferior and can be blinded by their with and charm. Women are more likely to peg me at my true levels of competence.
