I am doing a fair bit of driving these days and I am looking to download really interesting discussions / interviews / radio plays etc.
Any suggestions on where to find good stuff?
Yes. I'll be right back.
Watch this while you wait.

WQe have our libraries as sources for downloadable books, and PBS, and certain radio shows. Ive been leasing a car for business and it has Sirius. I hadda write Sirius and suggest they consider downoadable source channels for literary offerings. "BOOK-TV (from CSPAN-2) has a podcast site that allows downoads of discussions of new books and literary round tables and book festivals.
Thanks famerman,
I'll have a look see for BOOK-TV (from CSPAN-2) for downloads of discussions of new books and literary round tables and book festivals.
Thanks Amigo,
Watching stuff won't work as I'll drive off the road, well unless I have someone else drive which might be possible in the future, in which case I could drag a laptop with me in the car.......
Interesting Discussions
Interesting Interviews
Radio Plays
Electricity and Magnetism Lessons
Computer Lessons
Other Technology Lessons
Math Lessons
Classic Literature
Any Of The Sciences Discussions, Interviews, Lessons
Anything really interesting and cool but I do have a predilection for philosophy, technology and science

It's a very funny radio variety show with very good music to. The stories are very entertaining and the music is old time entertaing and uplifting.
This stuff is made for driving. It's so good you'll wish you could drive more.
Here is a clip except it is bad quality but it is very good on your radio. Give it a chance. I swear you will thank me later.

It is a radio show. It is much better when you can't see them because then you use you imagination and before you know it you are done driving.
Hey I just realized that since I have Dragon Naturally Speaking I can turn any text into the spoken word and then convert that into an MP3.
It might be intriguing to convert some of the threads on A2K!
Oh man, that would be strange. You could learn all kinds of things.
The Dragon Naturally Speaking voice is a bit robot sounding, which would add the to weirdness, as would the fact that all the text would be in the same voice, so it might be hard to tell who is saying what.
I gotta try this........
Add some synth and drums and do some experimental noise music.
Damn I could could it into Sonar and/or Acid.
download old time radio shows, mysteries, superheroes, comedies, dramas, etc. at
www.radiolovers.com (they're free, which is even better). Try Bogart and Bacall's "Bold Venture" series
This is Australia's Radio National site.
They cover a lot of areas in their discussions etc...and they can be downloaded....have a browse.

Heres the link for the Chester County Library SYstem (SE Pa) . Im just presenting it as an example of the e-books that local libraries now have. Im sure that a big urban center like Vancouver will have its own network.

oh amigo, I LOVE Prairie Home Companion!
Years back, my ex-h and I would go for long drives in the country, and listen to Garrison while viewing the sights.
Some of the tales really touch your heart.
BTW, have you seen the movie? Weird concept to watch something meant for listening.
Reading along, I'd like some ideas for listening too....thanks chumley.
Yes I saw the movie. I like the movie to. I like the ending to. How that girl takes off after she gets money and power of atourney from her mom and then their little group just goes about their buissness.
I want to live in that little group forever.
Apple's iTunes has free course lectures from various colleges and universities, including a nice selection of stuff from MIT.
The Podcasts also cover a wide range of radio downloadable talkshows.

I'd second the bunny's suggestion.
They have a lot of downloadable stuff. I use it quite a bit.
If nothing else, different aspects; different topics; different accents.
Australia is that big island thingy on the other side of the Pacific Ocean to you, and down a bit. You know, the one with the kangaroos. Not Austria!
We speak English!

Oh yeah? I've heard Rolf Harris have a go at it a time or two. Didn't come across much like Terry Thomas. More like Terry Wogan, I'd say.

Rolf has lived in England for 50 years...we expelled him.
