If I'm really tired or preoccupied I can forget my phone number when someone asks for it. As for my mobile number, my recollection of it comes & goes. But then, I don't often need to dial it, so why should I be expected to remember it?

When I was but a lad (and in me youth, even), Mom often called me "absent-minded professor." So, it's a tendency I've always had. Just a bit more pronounced these days.

My mind is always going a million miles a minute and I couldn't possibly remember everything.

I hate to be a downer, but I'd bring it up with your doctor the next time you see him or her.
I doubt it's anything serious, but better safe than sorry.

I'm with DrewDad--it sounds to me as though it might have been a small stroke--no biggie in itself, but you don't want to be a man with a series of cerebral events.

Yeah, I heard something recently about small, almost unnoticable strokes being much more common than previously thought.
Hope that's not it, though.

That never even crossed my mind. I forget stuff all the time and I don't think anything of it.
