for the past 2 days the lady Diane has been cleaning out the fridge. I found 9 jars of olives I didn't know I had. It's like xmas.
It would be like xmas for my child. SHe loves olives!!! WHat kind do you have?
How the hell do you lose 9 jars of olives?
Don't forget olives are fattening. Take it from me, i,m getting fat.
How many dinars do you want for thos olives.
actually 9 different ones, mostly with the brand name "mezzetta" The one I'm eating right now is "southwestern olives with herbs and napa valley chardonnay"
I saw "9 jars of olives" on the At a Glance list, and I said to myself, "Dys is posting again." Opened the thread and I was right. A Dys post.
Whacha gonna do with all dem olives?
He's going to give them to osso.
You are getting sleepy. You are getting very sleepy....
Start chilling the martinis and we'll all be over in just a bit.
Lucky I warned Diane about some terrible olives at Sunflower...
I just opened a jar of Italian Antipasto peppers I didn't know I had, WOW they are groovy!
Of course they are, silly. Now, when you're finished with those, don't throw the bottle/juice out. I've cut up carrots and stuff, even bok choy, and put them in the 'juice'. Peel, and clean, of course.
Well, I suppose you could get some dreadful botulism from doing that, but I haven't so far.
I think fridges should come with slide out trays... that don't slide out too far.
Maybe they do now, the best kind, but I've an ordinary Amana.
The lady Diane just informed that our fridge selves do slide out. I never knew that.
Note tacked to forehead (save jars for Osso)
Nine jars of olives.
That's quite a bit of sodium.
I was teasing re giving me the olives.
True, they are saltmobiles...
I didn't realize quite how much
Quote:Olives, black, 0.5 oz - 115 mg sodium
Quote:Butter, unsalted, 1 Tablespoon - 2 mg sodium
Quote:Cashews, 1/4 cup, dry roasted - 6 mg sodium
I can drown myself in cashews before I reach the sodium in 0.5 oz of black olives?
Sold!
seriously, I would be like, totally celebrating. I never have enuf olives to go w/that gin and extra dry vermouth. But I really want the olive juice and to eat them at the bottom of the glass
mmmmm, me like olives. me also like sodium. me also like lots of other things that aren't good for me. me likes what me likes.
My present favorite bottled olives -
Alas, I can no longer stop by Oakville Grocery and pick up a pint of green bella cerignolas, or a pint of black bella cerignolas, or some picholine with lemon... but I can get some pretty good olives at the deli counter of Keller's, a local food emporium.
Discovery Channel:
1. Sliding fridge trays assist vicennial cleaning and foster playing with shelf.
2. Olive juice is tasty and could have other applications.
Epenthesis - I have saved the juice from this lemon-basil-chardonnay olive jar, with the idea in mind of putting it on potato salad, or something like that. I end up throwing it out.. but as I said earlier, I've used the juice from the marinated italian peppers jar to marinate other veggies. Better to pickle peppers fresh, I'm sure, in terms of hygiene.
