Surprise in a Barn

Check out the contents of this
barn.A married couple bought some property in Portugal. The property had
a lovely farmhouse and a large barn. No one had lived in the house or on
the property for 15 years. The new owners, while exploring their
property, decided to look in the barn, which they had not entered before
purchasing the property. The barn door was padlocked and welded
shut. The new owners ground off the padlock and the welds, and voila!
Unbelievable! {Click on Next}

I find the whole thing a bit hard to believe, but I suppose it could be plausible.

Ah...at last!

A legendary auto graveyard.

They feel their last moment is coming, and trek, slowly and with failing strength, to die at last in one of these mystical places.

I hope they will be left in peace.

Amazing.

I think I believe it. Sands of time.

That is a little hard to believe. How would all those cars be left behind?

I thought about that....

maybe it was a chop shop, or the vehicles were going to go to one...

maybe the guy or guys coordinating the thing got offed, with no one else knowing the operation existed.

Maybe sounds far fetched, maybe not.....I wonder how much stuff is sitting in warehouses right now where the "owner" met a sudden accident.

I doubt that was a chop shop. There were a couple of race cars in there. It was a collection.

Maybe the previous owners died, and there was no beneficiary? But why wouldn't the barn have been opened?

It seems like it would have to be something illegal -- if not a chop shop than just plain stealing cars for a collection. And then the person in charge of it died somehow, no heirs, whatever.

What kind of value on that? Obviously a lot of them weren't in that great of shape -- others seemed to be fine, just dusty.

I was thinking; "It's got to be the largest garage I've ever seen." Forgetting it's a barn.

Huge value, Soz. There are some rare cars in there. Someone who had the time & skill to restore those cars a little could make a killing.

How huge, though? I mean obviously you can't see with any kind of precision but, like, more than a billion?

Somewhat useful for me to just study the cars. We can't see most of them very well, but the list of names is handy for looking up online.

Yeah, what soz said. I'm not "hep" to the criminal lingo, but it just seems it would involve something illegal.

I'm sure there's all sorts of works of art, coins, etc. all hidden away by people who shouldn't have them.

That's probably what happened to my Winky Dink Magic TV Screen. It's in some billionaires collection.
