its 6:16 a.m. here and I'm going my best to help the environment and avoid stupid gas prices. This morning, I'm taking public transportation to work. Go Me!
I hope today is an uneventful day at work. I'm taking a friend to lunch so I can talk with her about some of her financial decisions and issues. She's my friend and I love her, but about to have a baby, and I am so fearful of how things will go if she doesn't change some things around.
Anyway, that's going to be the highlight of my day, what about yours? What have you soddy bits got planned?
Monday reports. Plus my supervisor is out for 2 weeks, starting today, so either it will be quiet or everyone will bug me, figuring I've got all the time in the world.
I'm also off to pub tran.

Every day you'll see the dust (Too much, the Magic Bus)
As I drive my baby in my Magic Bus (Too much, the Magic Bus)
I can no longer ignore my dust woollies and the atmospheric cobwebs are chock-a-block with unattractive dead flies.
I have four things on my work 'to do' list and a few more on the home-front. Two of the four are carried over from last week, so they get top billing. I don't take public transportation to work. I walk down the hall.
Monday is my lazy day off and I don't do a damn thing I don't feel like doing.
I will probably slam on some heavy metal mP3 action and ride my bike, and past that I have no plans whatsoever. I like that.
Back to work after a weeks vacation
Civic holiday here in Canada (well, except in Quebec). Probably looking at a long walk and a BBQ.
Mr Fix-it has to work tonight though so that's when I'll do a dust bunny roundup...or iron...something productive.
Monday reports AND month end reports will be clogging my inbox today.
Hubby's car is in the shop (might be a simple fix, might be baaad, we'll know more this afternoon) so I drove him to work. I have to get some work stuff done (about 2 hours' worth), then not sure what we're doing today. I'd planned to take sozlet to the State Fair but it's gonna be a scorcher and that's not fun. Probably will end up going to the pool. (I SO want my Blackberry with web browsing capability -- I'd love to get some work done at the pool. But right when I planned to buy it -- special deal expired July 31st, I was gonna go for it -- the A/C motor broke. Replacement = $400. Ouch. No Blackberry yet.)
About 5 more important "to-do" things on my list -- will probably end up being ~3 hours at the pool, ~2 hours of work, and ~2 hours of misc errands and getting stuff done. Then pick up E.G., make dinner (steak is marinating in the fridge), and try to get to bed early tonight.
I'm supposed to add a third set to my workout this morning. I hate it and I'm dragging my feet about it.
After that I should run to Staples for office supplies.
Once I get back, I'll continue checking out the Flash and Dreamweaver video workshops I have on disc. Time to get serious about it. I have a couple of future assignments that will require designing a website.
For part of the day I should work on ideas for a very special baby announcement I'm designing for an actor friends' daughter. Their first grandbaby. The announcement will probably go to some big-named film celebrities so, it's gotta be fantabulous!
Dinner will be leftovers from yesterday. Barbecued chicken. And there's still plenty of the spaghetti sauce left that I made last Thursday. I'll boil the pasta and that's it.
Still working on my novel. Couldn't hurt to write a few pages before bedtime. I tell myself that everyday, tho.
The best laid plans did not go as, er, planned. Found out my contract (and my colleague's, too) was accidentally not renewed. When I left at noon, it was still not cleared up. It may take a coupla days. I would work but the program I use is only licensed to me. Monday reports will slide to Tues if not Wed, as will beginning of month reports. Argh.
It's a well-earned vacation for me today. I've got the week off. The kids go back to school next week so I've been taking advantage of the tax free shopping first in Georgia and now in Florida. Visiting my dad in the town I grew up in. Debating with myself whether to look up old friends.
