Oh, it's that fresh and clean, starting anew feeling, like you get right after a lobotomy.

Welcome back! Smile

Tax records... You know the last seven years returns and documentation that you are obliged by law to keep in case the barstards want to screw you to the wall again.

BAS/GST will be a nightmare this year however, I WILL prevail using my animal cunning and sheer natural ability to cower, simper, crawl and brown nose my way to the top of the dung hill. God it sounds like I work for the public service.

All these years they have laughed at my astounding tax system......those receipts I remember to keep plonked in a different plastic bag for each year, along with other odds and ends, the group certificate I lose every year and finally find in the year before last's plastic bag.......with the lipstick I bought for that special night.

Somewhere in my study are the other plastic bags for the last 10 years or so, I hope.

I haven't seen them in years, but I have faith.

May the Force be with you.

Sorry about the computer. Glad to see you back.

(Guess I'll keep that weighty old file cabinet full of yellowing paper documents around a while longer...)

For a truely remarkable sum, there are lots of companies willing to attempt to recover a crashed hard disk. If you plan on going that route, DO NOT write new material to the bad disk. Hey, for a truely remarkable sum, even I would attempt a recovery operation.

I recall needing to restore a crashed program from backups stored on a ZIP drive. What a company! IOMEGA offered to replace the bad disk with a new one, if we sent them a written statement of the problem. ZIPs were going for $10.00 USD. Ultimately, I ended up manually restoring the previous two month's information lost from our accounting program. We no longer use ZIPs. Of course, neither does anyone else.
