I LOVE the underdog!
Rooted for the Atlanta Braves all through the seventies... after they got hot, I lost interest.

Rooted for the students in Tiannemen like it was the most important thing in the world at the time....(it was to me.)

Rooting now for the Iranian students....

Will think of more...an individual.

It probably was ... (depending on how narrow you define "at the time").

I know ... one of the many things that add to your charms. <smiles>. Sound instincts and a kind heart.

Strangely enough, my favourite underdog is actually Underdog, crime-fighting canine of my youth.

There's no need to fear! Underdog is here!
when criminals in this world appear
and break the laws that they should fear
and frighten all who see or hear
the cry goes up both far and near
for Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!

when in this world the headlines read
of those whose hearts are filled with greed
who rob and steal from those who need
to right this wrong with blinding speed
goes Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!

But seriously, folks...I saw the movie Seabiscuit yesterday. That was the story of a man, a horse and a jockey (also a man) who were all underdogs in a time in American history when this country was down and out. I recommend the film not only for the story but the filmmaking was superb.

My favorite underdogs are also my favorite minority: the sane.

In sports my favorite underdog in the USA in the world cup.
But I don't cheer for underdogs much in sports.

As far as nations go my favorite underdog is Isreal. There is a lot to respect about that nation. Ironically they play a large part in creating an even underer underdog with the Palestinians.

In life my favorite underdogs are those who come from abject poverty and who are fighting hard to keep their heads above the water.

The kids who still try to go to school while sleeping in a subway (remember taht kid in NY?), the teens who study all day and work all night and get by with less than an hour of sleep a day. Simply because they were born into dire circumstance.

The disabled are also my favorite underdog. In high school there was a mantally handicapped kid that got me into more than 10 fights. There were always some total jerks who would pick on him, not just tease him but smack and punch him. I'd often find him behind the school cornered by a few bulies. He'd have both fists up trying to defend himself and he would be crying. The bullies would be scaring him, beating him or removing his clothes.

I used to get my ass kicked for him almost every day. To this day I wonder where he is and how he's doing. He was the sweetest most innocent person you can imagine.

But if I had to pick ONE underdog. I'd pick children. I become physically moved when seeing them mistreated and have come to blows with adults over this since I was a little kid (lots of times I was in the wrong, I'd get so furious at seeing a kid get spanked that I'd flail at the adult doing it).

My favourite underdog is anyone who has less in life than they should.

As far as sports go, it has to be us Brits! We invented or developed most modern sports and most of the rest of the world now beats us at them. Except snooker (until the Chinese & Thaiwanese catch up & overtake us!)

My favorite underdog is Little Mo. His idiot parents don't even show up once a month to see him anymore.

My favorite underdog is Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

So many people abhor her because she is smarter than they are.

My next favorite would be the underdog of A2k, Sophia, because some people like to discount and joke about her opinions.
