Hi Bermbits, Thanks for the answers you supplied but gynacology has 10 letters not 11 as required, I wonder if it is gynaecology.
The ancestor one still has me beat.

For 3d I have "eponyms", and 8d "gynaecology", the other answers are the same as suggested by bermbits.
