I got tired of reading about what everybody is listening to and what books they're reading and what they're gonna have for breakfast, facrissakes. So, what's in your stein as you sit there trying not to spill it on your keyboard?

I'm dogsitting for two weeks, and I just found the owners' homemade beer stash.

Uh-oh!

It actually is quite good.

I almost never drink beer. Had a beer with pizza at Dys and Diane's recently, forget what it was. (I miss my northwest coast beer, like downtown brown or red tail ale, not that I drank those all that often either.) Alternately, sometimes I like the lightish stuff, like Tsing Tao, or Pacifico. Probably for the labels, but maybe related to the weather.

Remembering, the beer at D & D's was Sam Adams. Eh...
(I don't think that's their fav.)

I'm kidding. I love beer. Beer beer beer, down into my belly.

Last night had a couple Dos Equis, and also Devil's-something-IPA which was delicious.

I'm not an alcoholic, I'm a drunk. Alcoholics go to meetings.

Boutique Australian Beer Pack
http://www.wishlist.com.au/images/Products/MV03/DSC_0961beer_H.jpg

# The Jamieson Brown Ale is one of the first beers to be produced at the brewery. Based on a Southern English Brown Ale, this Ale has a classic brown/dark amber colour with sweet nose and hints of toffee and spice. The Jamieson Brown Ale received a bronze award at the Australian International Beer Awards. Preservative free. 330ml. Alc/Vol 4.9%.

Leatherjacket Lager
# A new pilsner style beer, using centuries old decoction mashing techniques and incorparating hop flowers from the fields of Zatec. Sweet barley flavours quickly recede revealing the emphatic spiciness and characteristic aftertaste of the Czech Saaz hops. 330ml stubbie. Preservative Free. Alc/Vol 4.5%.

Bintara Black Beer
# Based on the traditional style of an Irish export stout, full bodied, hoppy and higher in Alcohol. This black beer has been handcrafted with generous amounts of roasted and dark chocolate malts to give malty aromas, a rich dark colour and a velvet smooth finish on the palate. 330ml stubbie. Naturally carbonated, preservative and chemical free. Alc/Vol 5.5%

Also had this one last week. Not too bad either. Did NOT like their Pale ale.

Thanks for your input, guys! Now isn't this better than going on and on about the latest CD from somebody with only one name or about the 'audio-book' somebody's listening to? I learned a lot about Aussie beers from dadpad's post.

9%. It gets the job done.

At the other end of the spectrum, I've got the remnants of a case of PBR in the fridge....

Does anyone realize that PBR is an underwriter of NPR? What can that mean?

I can't imagine. I know it's the unofficial official beer of flat-track roller derby. I wonder if there's a connection?

I can't remember the last time I had a beer and this makes me want one now.

Think I'll grab me a few tomorrow when I go to town.
