Refering to the 2006 census, 2.0% of Australias population was newzealand born. Population Australia 21 million, 2% = 420,000 newzealand born citizens living in Australia.

As I understand it, there is still provision in the Australian Constitution for NZ to become another State of Australia :wink:

Lotsa portable mining inventions are Australian. I suspect that, since the country was so remote and water power was not as free as in the US or South America, many of the tools like dredges and sluices were innovated for use as "dry box" technology.

Thats all I got to say about that.
