The BBC (of course!) put out an article citing research which shows that tea isn't dehydrating and that it is even better for your health than plain old water. Drinking up to 4 cups a day helps to lower chances of heart disease and some cancers. Tea also protects teeth against tooth plaque and decay as well as boosting bone density.

I'm guessing, from the text, that the tea they refer too is specifically non-herbal tea (black, green, white) with caffeine intact. I wonder if the decaf processing would inhibit the healthy benefits.

I've been drinking some green tea lately, as well as lemon. Maybe this old dude has a few more years left in him.

I find it especially invigorating when mixed with whiskey.

Both are good for you! I need to start getting more caffeinated tea into me. Just in case. I love lemon in my tea, but I buy them only periodically.

How's a couple jugs of Pepsi a week compare, healthwise? I'm sure it's about the same.

I've always wanted to try Chai Tea, but the opportunity hasn't presented itself as of yet.

Pepsi, any cola/soda, is terrible for you on many levels. You know that, though.

I love green tea, but hardly drink it.

I also love studies, like the one I recently read that said taking over the daily recommended dose of a multi vitamin may greatly increase your chances of getting cancer. Which I thought was half the point of taking a multi with antioxidants.

one cup of tea per day, sure...

but....FOUR? I can feel my heart pumping after one black tea. I have trouble imagining how that could be healthy. That's a lot of theine and caffeine.

Be aware that too much acid (such as is in lemons) can give you some dental damage.

But anyway, 4C and Crystal Light (and also Celestial Seasonings, now that I think of it) make iced green teas with antioxidants, just pour in a water bottle, shake and drink. The 4C blueberry is really good.

Or with your luck you'll turn into a fat-ass....each of those Arizona teas have a ridiculous amount of sugar. Unless it's diet, obviously.
