I need to convert any of the following file formats into .jpg, .bmp, or .gif.

They are:

.cad
.hpg
.plt
.hp
.hpgl
.hpl
.hgl

Reason being, these are the file formats my drawing program can save as or export to. My purpose is to share schematic drawings of my aquarium related do-it-yourself projects with, well, all you people online! I need to convert the files into jpg's so I can post them just like any picture file. This way everyone will be able to download & print them without having to have the same silly program I'm using to draw them.

I hope some one can help... Embarrassed

Thanks!

H.

Hi Harmonic!

I spoke with my husband, who works as an Autocad Designer. He said you can't do a regular save as command with a Cad file. However, if you use a screen shot capture program, like Snagit, you should be able to take a snapshot of the schematic.

Just found it myself. You're welcome! :-D

The button labled 'Print Screen' on your keyboard will copy a screenshot to the clipboard, without the need for any screen capture programs. You can then paste the image into any image editing program such as Paint which comes free with Windows. Alt+PrintScreen will copy only the current window to the clipboard, rather than the full screen.

Unless you really need SnagIt's capture-to-AVI feature, a simple screen-capture program costing $39.95 is silly, considering Windows has this function built-in. There are also many good free screen capture programs about.

I've gotta post this on the famous quotes page - really made me laugh! :-D

Hmm, Monger, I dunno 'bout the Windows print screen thingie - hubby swears by Snagit for ACAD.

So, harmonic, what's that a schematic of?
