I miss hearing Remdawg during the games. Sad I love it when he and Don get going and laugh so hard they can't even announce the game...what a team.

Sending positive vibes Remy's way....

... he didn't.

he's taken a step back this year.
dunno if the WBC messed him up... or if he's throwing too much in between starts... or he's in a prolonged papi-like slump.

the immediate issue is that 6 doesn't go into 5, no matter how you slice it.
with smoltz ready to make his sawx debut, the team has to do something.

the globe's massarotti broke down the options --
http://www.boston.com/sports/columnists/massarotti/2009/06/multiple_choices_on_smoltz.html

i do not see them trading dice, or demoting him to the bullpen.
a penny trade (packaged with lugo?) seems the most likely scenario...

NESN is reporting that they will be going with a six man rotation, at least initially. I'm looking forward to seeing how Smoltz does.

It's too early to throw in the towel for Dice-K just yet!

they're talking about a september 1st return?

Quote:
Dice-K ignored Sox strength program
The most surprising thing was Daisuke Matsuzaka's lack of conditioning, and that he didn't feel he had to do any of the shoulder strengthening program all Red Sox pitchers are on. According to a major league source, Matsuzaka appeared convinced that a Japanese shoulder is different from an American shoulder.

Did I hear Mario Rivera saying that Papelbon said he could see himself pitching for the Yankees? I was walking through the living room and caught just a smidge of the interview...

That offends me.

here's the papelbon interview.
the gist of it is he doesn't wanna play anywhere, but it is a business blahblahblah...
