last night's win gives the sawx the best record in the bigs.

but i'm concerned about our $103 mill investment.
he looked very ordinary last night, but the big bats bailed him out, big time...

You sound like every other caller into WEEI who was complaining that Varitek is washed up, that Pedroia shouldn't be in the majors, doom and gloom....first of all, Dice-K isn't going to be pitching a 1-hitter every outing. Second, it's the Yankees, who have one of the toughest lineups in baseball. He kept the hottest hitter in the game at bay. He did have some rough patches last night, but it's only what, his 4th game? I think he looks pretty damn good. And considering it wasn't a great outing, he still had 7K's in as many innings.

yeah its early, but...
he gets his strikeouts no matter what.

i'm not pleased with all the room service pitches he threw last night.

until he gains control of all his pitches and learns to paint the corners, he will continue to be a good pitcher, but not a great one...

Give him until at least the All-star break before the expert analysis. I'm sure all the professional scouts, GM's, owners & managers know a tiny bit more than you and I, and the consensus from them is that he's pretty f'n good.

I have to agree with Slappy - this guy just started pitching here in the major leagues in the US what not even a month. I don't think you can quite determine how well he is going to be yet.

I'm just going to do standing room, most likely behind the handicapped section on the first base side. I got two single tickets that aren't together...plus usually when I have bleacher seats or other crappy grandstand I just get there a little early and get a good standing room spot...better view than a lot of seats. Going to be meeting up with The Ese too.

i understand good seats can be obtained legally -- if you don't mind missing an inning or two.

these are seats, returned to the box office by players who didn't need them, that go on sale after the game's started.

on saturday a co-worker got $45 seats -- about 15 rows behind home plate...

That's pretty cool.

I'm not buying tickets anymore. I have a connection where I can get into the park for about 1/2 of what scalpers get for standing room. I could have gone last night for $75 each...tix were going for $150.

I'll let you know how it works out.

Dammit, I can't find my "Shank a Yank" shirt. Even though they're not playing them, I'm pissed it's missing.
