I love rumballs!!!! I use online recipes. I don't theink I've found one I like hands down. I use chocolate snaps instead of wafers and ground nut meal. I'll try to look into my recipe folder to see if I have saved one.

holy cow, CJane! The ones I make have no animal fat. Just cookies, rum, sugar, cocao, some sort of syrup and nuts.

I've never heard you can make them without butter/butter fat Shocked

I think, CL's recipe is the traditional one, variations might be to use a bit more chocolate and/or cacao or less, and how much rum you add.

Oh yeah, littlek, we Germans always use real butter and rich ingredients,
but then we eat far less of the sweets as one of the rum balls satisfies your
sweet tooth quickly.

Aren't they?
We have an exquisite chocolatier here in town and he rolls the rum balls
in cocoa powder - that's good too.

Rum Balls? I've never even heard of them, but they look delish. They look like donut holes. Is that what they're like, chocolate donut holes w/ rum and sprinkles?

Thanks CJane. Smile I don't like chocolate sprinkles I would rather roll them in powdered sugar or ground almonds. Could I roll them in coconut? That would be yummy.

I do have a question, though. What is the measurement 'sp'??? Is that teaspoon or tablespoon?

You can roll them in whatever you like, doglover. I love coconut too!
I once rolled them into these tiny colorful candy perls and that looked
very nice.

Yes, tablespoon, sorry.

I always use regular chocolate (a good brand) as I don't like
baking chocolate, and yes it is melted. I also use very good
Rum, one can taste the difference.

Hmmm, probably any good liquor or liqueur... but, sure, a good brand for both chocolate and rum.
