One point about the Druze that is overlooked is that they, just like all other offshoots of Shia Islam, such as the Allawites; the Ismailis; the Baha'i; and the Assassins; all consider themselves the part of Islam where the Hidden Imam, the Mahdi, the Muslim Messiah, has actually arrived.
In this, they are all akin to Christianity vis a vis Judaism.
Their Messiah has arrived. The majority Muslim "Hidden Imam" or Mahdi hasn't shown up yet...
