@Builder,
Yeah, I just spent the last little bit going around Youtube watching performance after performance. Huh. How on earth is it that I've never heard of this before???

@FBM,
They are a hard critter to spot in the wild. I've been trekking for nearly forty years, and only saw my first one a few weeks ago.

@FBM,
The original footage from Life of Birds is real and these birds make incredible sounds, but that particular clip provided by Builder has been modified into a short comedy clip.

Where I live they are very common. It's not unusual to see at least a dozen or so on my drive to work, especially in the cooler months. They prefer it to be a little dark or at least overcast.

@FBM,
David Attenborough featured them in one of his series - so I'm guessing you're not watching enough PBS Very Happy

@hingehead,
Yeah, I used to be a PBS addict, but it's hard to get over here in Korea. It's Youtube all the way for me these days...

The Lyrebirds are cool, but I always thought the Blue Bird of Paradise made the most amazing sound...

Thanks for all the wonderful photos, discussions, and sounds. Sorry I've been absent. I'll try to do better.

@vonny,
For some reason, I'm very keen on hare photos, drawings, and .. even real hares, the few times that I've run across them.
