One of world's rarest sea turtle is in a critical condition after straying more than 5,000 miles from its home in the Gulf of Mexico. The hatchling is receiving intensive round the clock care from a specialist vet on Walney Island, off Barrow, Cumbria, U.K. It has been identified as a Kemps Ridley sea turtle which is critically endangered. Some Kemps Ridley turtles have fled their natural habitat because of sudden temperature drops off US' east coast. Pademelons Abound
Pademelons are plentiful at this time of year in Tasmania. In fact, a number of them have created a circuit track about the house. Here are a couple of pademelons I snapped a few days ago.

Daylight Robbery
A white squirrel raids a bird feeder in early December. White squirrels are only found in several communities in North America. They are not albino (no red eyes) but are really white squirrels, known as “white morphs”.

Three Pheasants
Every winter the local pheasants decent on our bird feeders in our garden. Hence an opportunity to snap some local wild life.

Dung flies are prettier than their name might suggest.
I was struck by the metallic green/yellow colouration of this one.

They even make themselves useful by eating other flies.

Dinner's down! A fox plunges headfirst into two foot of snow to pounce on unsuspecting rodents moving underneath. Photographer Max Waugh said it was a 'spectacular sight' as the fox stopped, listened for movement, and then leapt in the air to plough in headfirst in America's Yellowstone National Park
