"Following" -- an early, or perhaps first, movie by a well-known director (not well-known by me, he did Fight Club, I think). Black and white, made on a shoe string budget. Really well done.

(djjd, do you have Willie Wonka on DVD?)

Finally saw The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger was wildly creepy. I think he just may deserve the Oscar this year, like they say.

Another cracker from Australia. The Black Balloon http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0865297/ tells a story centered around an autistic adolescent and his family, similar to What's Eating Gilbert Grape.Just as DiCaprio was so convincing and appealing,so is Luke Ford whose unusual antics take us,and his family,on an emotional journey.
It's a funny,confronting and heart-warming story.

Shampoo with Warren Beatty, Julie Christy and Goldie Hawn. A blast from the past.

Barry, Been a long time since I have gone to the movie theater, but don't bother to watch Tom Cruise's Valkerye. It's a total waste of time, Brit.

Loved this one, however.

A bit slow in the beginning, but does it ever build to a stunning conclusion.

No, I haven't seen that one, Barry. Looks good, will rent it! The last movie that I saw with Ben Kingsley was 'You kill me'. Liked it...

Letty, Valkerye is much talked about in Germany, of course. But I haven't heard anything good so I will not watch it, especially now that you say the same thing...

Barry, have I known you in a former life? Shocked

Very few folks have called me Ms. Letty. Sorry to veer off topic, Brit. Just curious.

Unfortunately no.I'm relatively new on A2K and have browsed many threads and have contributed to a few (sometimes making a total ass of myself) and have "learned" to respect certain forumites. As a true Brit,I always try to be polite.A certain "disc spinner" holds you in high regard,so I'm following his lead. So,if you don't object, may I still call you Ms. Letty whenever we "meet"?

That gave me a smile, Barry. I needed that today. Have to think of a movie that I saw that was made for TV. Back later.

Waves to Urs, 'cause I have met her and BigDice.

Hey, Brit. Lightwizard didn't think this movie was good, but I liked it.

88 Minutes with Al Pacino.

Pineapple Express

Ahh, memories of my stoner days. Although I have to say, I've never had a shootout with a drug gang!

What's up with these estrogen laden buddy movies that Seth Rogen Evan Goldberg have been writing, like their other one, Superbad? They tapped their inner females, and taken it to the nth degree.

Can't comment as I haven't seen it but Pacino is worth watching even just reading the telephone book.He tango's pretty good to!
Bumped into Lightwizard a long time ago.Muucho respect to that guy!
Just taken Eagle Eye http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1059786/ out of the player. It seems that the critics hated it but the paying public loved it to bits. It's an action/thriller,based upon "Is big brother watching you?"

Hey, Brit. I just remembered this one. It was the worst adaptation of a movie from a book that I have ever seen.

Clive Cussler wrote it and it was really exciting. His hero was always Dirk Pitt.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0318649/

Thanks for the info about the movie Eagle Eye.

More synchronicity. A Time to Kill with Kevin Spacey, et. al. is coming on TV right now.

Sometime Lightwizard and I have different views, but you are right. He knows art and cinema.
