Probably not. They can't tolerate the change in pressure as they're being brought in. I was listening to a marine expert talking about it on the radio yesterday.

Hey, this popped up in the news. That squid caught by the Kiwis was put into a deep freeze when caught and now they are trying to plan a way to thaw it for study. They want to make it all thawed at once and are considering an industrial sized microwave.
