A2K has recently turned on HTML for special characters. But we do not allow any HTML tags for security reasons. So if you frame text between <and> and turn HTML ON in your post it will be there but will not be displayed.
Actually, the HTML is suppose to be ON. Anyway, from what I remember this feature is disabled now.
